Character (Original Universe)
Name: Jaune Arc
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Canon: RWBY
Canon Point: Post season 2
History: boop
Personality:
Jaune Arc? More like Jaune Awk. Jaune is your typical awkward teenager - something we can all relate to. He’s not sure of himself in just about every way, and it shows, despite his best efforts. He tries his best to be suave, but very rarely does he succeed. Overall he acts much more confident than he actually is, though growth in this area is a work in progress as he branches out and begins to accept who he is.

Jaune doesn’t really belong at the school he attends - he lied and cheated his way in. This doesn’t make him a bad guy; he did it because it was kind of expected from him. His father, his grandfather, his great grandfather… they were all hunters. Jaune lacks much of the combat ability that a typical hunter has, and he’s not very book smart, either. In order to make his family proud, he did what he had to to follow in his ancestor’s footsteps. That aside, he is aware that he does not deserve to be there, and is secretly very insecure. He can’t so what everyone else can. He has a basic sword and shield and he can barely use them. Even his parents didn’t think he would make it at Beacon. Thanks to lessons from Pyrrha he slowly learns how to fight, though he is still nowhere near any other student’s level.

While academically and physically challenged, Jaune excels with tactics. Once he gets over acting without thinking, Jaune proves to be good at coordinating his allies to work together as effectively as possible and noticing his opponent’s weaknesses. That tied with his charisma makes him an excellent and surprising leader. He is able to backstage his insecurities for the good of the team, as Jaune really wants to do what’s best. He puts his team before himself. When he was being bullied, Cardin wanted him to hurt one of his teammates and Jaune refused, putting himself in harm’s way instead.

Despite being a good strategist, Jaune can be very blind. Pyrrha, one of Jaune’s teammates, is not subtle in her affection towards him, but Jaune is completely oblivious to her advances, and unintentionally hurts her when he only has eyes for Weiss. That’s not to say that he dislikes Pyrrha. On the contrary, Jaune opens up more to Pyrrha than anyone else, and trusts her explicitly.

Jaune is a fun outgoing guy. He’s great for comic relief, but he also knows when to be serious. He treats everyone as equals, not letting race interfere with his view of a person. He has a strong sense of integrity, as is seen when he shows up in a dress at the school dance for Pyrrha without a hint of embarrassment. He is beyond kindhearted and always puts others first, not just his team, like when he defended his bully when grimm attacked them in the woods. He’s the loveable dope who labels his shoes left and right. He talks to himself. He doesn’t want to be the hero of all heroes. Hell, he doesn’t think he can be. But given enough training and time, he could be a hero, and that’s more than good enough for him.

Third-Person Sample:
“This was a bad idea. This was a terrible idea! What was I thinking?” Jaune paced the floor of his room. “I’m going to get killed if I go. Slaughtered!” He finally stopped moving and stared at his half packed bag, biting his lip as he deliberated with himself.

“You know what? I’m not going. I’m not doing it. It’s not worth it. It’s the farming life for me.” He crossed his arms and punctuated his monologue with a nod. He held the stance for about ten seconds before dropping in defeat.

“But what am I going to tell Mom? She was so excited when I told her I got into Beacon. I can’t tell her I cheated my way in now! She already thinks I won’t last there. And my sisters will never let me live it down…” He sighed and plopped down on the bed. A glint of gold caught his eye and he picked up the sword that was lying on the bed next to him, unsheathing it and looking at himself in its reflection.

“Dad was so proud when he gave me this sword, too, but I barely know how to use this thing. It can’t be that hard, though, right?” He paused, thinking his situation over. “Maybe no one really knows how to fight there. I mean, it’s a school. They’re supposed to teach us stuff, right? It’s not like they’re just going to hurl us off a cliff and say ‘Good luck’!” He began to nod, believing in what he was saying. “Yeah, I’ll go there, they’ll teach me how to use this thing, and it’ll all be good.”

Determined, he sheathed his sword and packed it. He could do this. He could totally do this. He finished packing, zipped his bag closed, and took a deep breath. Tomorrow he was going to Beacon. Tomorrow he would start on the path of a hunter, the path of a hero. Tomorrow he-

Oh crap he was going to have to talk to girls.

Mognet Sample:
Umm… Hey there.

I don’t know, well, probably any of you, but I’m Jaune Arc. Pumpkin Pete here told me that people have been popping up from all over the place and I was thinking maybe I’m not the only one from Beacon? If I am then I think they grabbed the wrong person because I’m not really Hero of Light material. You probably want Pyrrha for that.

But yeah, if anyone else from Beacon is here, give a shout. Or have your moogle give a shout, I guess? I’m still figuring this whole thing out.
